The NVQ Diploma in Site Logistic Operation (Construction) Level 2 qualification aims to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace and provides the opportunity for individuals whose responsibilities involve the management of vehicular traffic on construction sites, establishing work area protection and slinging and signalling the movement of loads to demonstrate their competence.

This qualification covers the following areas.

  • general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • preparing and operating specialised power tools and equipment in the workplace
  • conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Rationale and purpose of this qualification

This qualification recognises the learner’s skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrates their competence in a real workplace environment so that they can work in the site logistics operations sector within the construction industry.

Learners who achieve this qualification can use it to gain employment, to progress in the industry, or to work towards another qualification (see Progression).

They are assessed in a combination of ways: By portfolio - you build up evidence of what you've done at work; and by observation - an assessor watches you work and checks that you can do the tasks. Candidates produce evidence to prove they have the competence to meet the NVQ/SVQ standards.

You cannot fail an NVQ. You are either classed as competent, or not yet competent; which means you would need to provide additional or further evidence over a period of time.

Applications are assessed in order of receipt and processing times may vary. Most candidates complete a course in 3 - 12 months dependant on the level. Some in as little as 3 months depending on what time you have available and what evidence you may already have.

Yes. Towards the end of your course your Assessor will conduct an onsite observation at your work place to make sure you are putting in to practice what you have been studying. We observe you not the business.

All of our assessors are industry competent and qualified. You will be assigned one Assessor/Tutor throughout the duration of the course so you know who to deal with and build that important rapport. There is no limit to the support you can ask for.
